Anyone got any neat tricks as to the best way to re-attach the centre stand spring ?? Man , is that thing taught !! I gave up in the end as I was almost pulling the bike off the ABBA or even the side stand. Or do I just need to man up :biggrin:
First put the centre stand roughly in position with both ends of the spring hooked in place. Go round to the left side of the bike and insert the centre stand bolt, screwing it in part way only. Back on the right side of the bike, insert a long rod or tool of some kind into the foot of the centre stand, to give some leverage. Pull back on the rod with your left hand, stretching the spring enough to get the holes lined up, then with your right hand get the bolt started in its thread. Finally tighten both bolts fully home, and it's done.
I agree this does work and is the only way I have found to do it but it is still a bit of a struggle to get the bolts lined up and don't over tighten them, you can strip the thread quite easily
