  1. hey all, just a quickie, bought a new cf part from italy, exact what I needed (rear mudguard) and good price (30ish quid) (theres an art to buying cf I reckon - to do with budget/funds/availability/quality/wife mood/one bit at a time) anyway anyway...

got an email to say that supplier sends out part in unfinished condition...hmmm...ok well its cheap send it...

got it today, and its actually quite good, however it seems that basically it needs some kind of lacquer on it as it seems a bit dull on the shinny bit and rough on the bottom bit.

any suggestions on what lacquer to get ? - I reckon clear acrylic spray paint lacquer would do it ? 3.99 from screwfix...?

  2. Take it into your local carbody repair workshop and ask them how much to put a 2 pack clearcoat finish on there for you

  3. Spray it up with any old clearcoat, then stick it on your windowsill or car dashboard for a day or two - assuming the sun comes out of course - to harden. Job jobbed.

  4. 30 quid thats a bargain, is there a link you can share?

  5. I actually love the look of unlacquered carbon

  6. 2200 wet/dry paper used wet then a compound polish why add weight, you can get a mirror finish on carbon fibre without laquer

  7. Halfords Clear Laquer'd my carby carbon cans back to full shininess! :upyeah:
