Chain And Sprockets

  1. Any opinions on steel vs aluminium rear sprockets for road use, also DID chains, and JL vs Renthal

  2. You will get different opinions, personally I have been very happy with Renthal Alloy rear sprocket and a Renthal chain.

  3. I’ve used an alloy rear sprocket on my 900ss , yes it will wear quicker than a steel one but so what, chains and sprockets are consumables (unless you’re one of those people that thinks it’s a good idea to get 25k miles out of a chain, for those people here’s 2 words, metal fatigue!)

  4. Steel is going to last longer - but look at the difference in weight on the steel vs alloy - these are from my 959 and for a track bike the difference is worth it in my opinion.

  6. 18000 miles with my current Afam chain, only adjusted 4 times and will last forever from the looks of it. Best chain I have ever had .

  7. I would go alloy, rental usually although Supersprox get great reviews.

  8. They can be had from ebay.

  10. At the time i could only find Afam poly cush drive rubbers at the same time I’d ordered some other bits from the USA. The ones Birdie linked to look similar and are cheaper.
The carrier us CNC racing italy.

  11. +1 for Renthal sprockets
