1200 Chain Slipper

  1. Just replacing the chain and sprockets (18500 miles on original chain) and removed the chain slippers for a deep clean. The slipper on the underside of the swing arm has got a fair bit of wear at the leading edge. Is this normal?

Also I know there is hours of reading on chain type and sprocket ratios on the forum but is there a general consensus on which is the best set up?
    i.e.
    15-42
    14-42
    14-40

  2. 15/42 or 14/40... The first is slightly longer, but noticeable.

  3. Just gone 14/40 and love it

  4. I've replaced a couple of chain sliders at around 15k. Going to 14T front will potentially increase the wear around the swing arm pivot area. If you're looking at a full chain and sprocket kit then go bigger on the rear and keep stock 15T front.
