Hi guys , I'm new to the group , I have a 2017 Pikes Peak Multistrada that is in need of a new chain and sprocket set up.I would like to use the new Regina HPE chain but it is only available in 520 & 525 pitch. I,m wondering if anyone out there is using the 525 pitch? My current set up is a 14 tooth front sprocket with a 40 tooth rear and 108 link ( 530 ) chain.how much longer would I need the chain to be if I go to a 42 tooth rear ( is it just a matter of adding the extra 2 links ) ?? any help will be greatly appreciated thanks .
Iirc @Android853sp replaced his Multi’s 530 chain with a 525. Hopefully he’ll be along soon to advise.
I did (no pun inteded) change to a 525 chain when I decided to go for 15f/43r instead of the 14/40 I had been running. I bought a chain 4 links longer than standard and cut it to length, which IIRC, was +2 links. Andy
