Chain Stuff

  1. Evening

    Looking for recommendations.

    In the market for a chain breaker/joiner.

    Also need some new lube. Been using Wurth dry chain lube that I like as no fling but everyone tells me my chain is dry.

    Additional:
    Are all 525 chains the same? I appreciate that some are o-ring, some are x-ring , different makes etc but could you take a 525 off a Suzuki and put it on a Ducati providing it is long enough?

  7. I've just bought a can of Wurth Dry Chain Lube, as the guys on the 2 Stroke Forum rave about it :)

  10. I use Motul Lube.
    > it is sticky tacky and almost hi vis yellow.
    It definitely works in the most demanding applications perfect for a track bike even in wet weather.

    I think mine might be MX type but would have to check.

    I use this type of chain breaker (I did not get my one from here)

    DID Style Chain Breaker/Riveter Tool

    (Splitting) I tend to use a grinder on the edge of link pins, then gently pull the link apart. Some people may not approve of this method but I've seen several people doing it this way.
