Chain Tensioning Made Easy

  1. What's wrong with a ruler? There's no allowance in that tool for tight spots, and most Ducati now don't spec a slack measurement, but a measured distance from swingarm to chain centre line.....
Always check chain tension in 3 or 4 places to allow for tight spotting.
Novel idea, but just that IMO

  2. Precision..... Hmmm...... Look at the range their settings cover... I think my best guess withiut a ruler would be more accurate

  3. Each to their own as ever, but chain tensioning already is easy. using that gadget looks more complicated than following several of the basic chain checking techniques that most of us already do.

  4. Some people invent things that are not needed to solve a problem that does not exist, makes me laugh at the suckers who buy it. :)

  5. Agree with Bob T here.
How did we manage years ago without all these gimmicks?

  6. I really like Sam's gimmick.
Grovelling on the floor, trying to read the graduations on a ruler through the right bit of your varifocals is no fun at all... ;)

  7. It's not a gimmick.
It's a precision made, patented, precision chain tensioning tool. For precise adjustment of a drive chain.
If you can approximately find the central point between the sprockets.
I take it on all tours and it is very light and compact.

These are readily available from my precision tool outlet at the very reasonable price of £27.50 inc p&p.

    S'long suckers.
