  1. Have any of your sport bike riders gone over to the Diavel? I'm currently riding the 899, had the 1098s before that. Couple of good rides this year so far but not sure how I felt about it!!! first time I have had these feelings. I do trackdays and get my buzz from that.
just really wondered how those that have changed felt about the differences?

  2. Why Diavel and not Multistrada?
It's basically a big comfy sports bike, especially if you get one of the 2010 - 2013 single spark models.

  3. I have thought about the Multistrada but the seat height is a bit much for me. I believe the newer ones have 40mm adjustment in it though.

  4. Newer Mutley (DVT) is definitely lower and there are a couple of people over on the Mutley forum who have swapped to it from the earlier version for precisely that reason.
Although I haven't ridden one myself the consensus seems to be that it is also quite a lot smoother and more sanitised than the earlier models.
I guess it kinda depends how much you think you'd miss the sporty element?
Diavel seems quite a leap from a 1098S to me, but a couple of years ago one of the guys in Motorcycle Sport & Leisure Magazine had one on long term loan and said if he was limited to just one bike it would be a Diavel.

  5. Thanks for that fella. Hoping for another test ride today. Might have a look at the Multi while I'm there?

  6. If you want character and charisma from your bike and that sense of occasion when you swing a leg over it, for me the Diavel has more of that than the Multi does.
The Multi is competence and practicality that also manages great performance as well. The Diavel is pure performance and style and any practicality is a happy accident. I like that.
Head says Multi, heart says Diavel. Never been wild about the looks but they're growing on me. I think its the exhaust I'm not keen on. And it could do with more ground clearance.
