  1. Hi guys

ok so my top fairing is off(doddle) but I cannot work out how to pull the headlight unit out to get to the sidelights?? Or am I missing something??? Any tips on how to do it as they both have blown.

  2. Hopefully someone more knowledgable than me will be along in a minute, but is there a centre bolt with spring on for adjusting the height to come out as well.

  3. Yep, undo that, don't let the spring fall out. The screw is the beam adjuster.

Then give it a good tug to remove it. Don't forget to unplug the wiring connector.

  4. cheers guys will have a go later.... Didnt want to pull everything out before asking.......

  5. Hi Umbra

  7. Word of advice when you have undone the centre bolt with the spring behind, ease the headlight unit out equally each side on the rubbers

The headlight units are very fragile and can be split.

Also they do get stuck on the rubbers so gentle pursuasion may be needed

  8. To add to above - I hope yours proves to be an exception, but the rubber sleeved bulb holder can be a total pain to remove. First one I ever did I dismantled to get access to the other side.

  9. Got to laugh here guys.... Most of bikes I have had takes 2 hours to remove top fairing Ducati takes 5 mins, but other bikes sidelight takes 2 mins to remove and havent looked yet but this could take hours... ha ha.... Swings and roundabouts mes thinks :upyeah:

  10. again, there are exceptions but getting to the point of possibly the hardest part, actually removing sidelight bulbholder is usually easy and should take around 10 minutes and quicker once you've done it once. Might be worth counting the number of turns before the one headlamp retaining screw (that doubles as the height adjuster) becomes free so you won't need to set the height again. As said above, once screw is out and spring/washer saved you need to carefully 'walk' it off the two rectangular rubber-lined spades left/right/left style.

  11. If ever I remove the light I set the bike on the paddock stand in the garage and mark a line on the wall where the low beam cutoff is, then when reassembling simply line it up to that - saves faffing about to get the level back.

  12. yeah, but you got a garage
