1260 Changing From A 1200 Dvt

  1. Been thinking about changing my 2017 DVT to the 1260, I know the V4 is coming out but as I change mine every 3 years or so I can wait for the the bugs to be ironed out first before jumping on that one.

My 17 DVT has 15500 miles on the clock so thought I would put the 1k + belt/ valve service at 18k towards the 1260.

So simple question, will all my bits swop over easily, mainly the navihalter sat nav mount, Ducati alarm, R&G engine bungs, and most importantly the rear rack for the top box?, oh and are the seats the same as I have a spare front seat which I was going to get sent off for the gel treatment, been to the South of France twice this year and got severe bum ache after a few hours, not something I noticed in the past

  2. Seats are the same and your R&G stuff should swap straight over. I'm pretty sure the same is true of the Navihalter as the screens are the same, well they are on the PP.

I left my Evotech stuff on the old bike as I was told they are slightly different. To be fair, I was happy to leave them for the new owner and get new versions.

  3. Franksie - I was in a similar position but my DVT was 4.5 years old and the extended warranty runs out in March. I've decided to look at a 1260. I'm also not ready to commit to the V4 in year 1 and I know all my 'bits' will swap over.

  4. Just posted your in lays :)

  5. The top Box racks will also swap over from DVT to 1260, the only part that didn't was the Rad guard from Evotech - (IIRC) - had to wait for a new one but I usually leave the guards on the previous bike and get new ones anyway. Seats are the same mounting as the DVT for sure.

  6. Evotech Rad guard is a straight swap, as is the oil cooler guard, however the Evotech engine guard for the 1260 is slightly different.
