950 Changing My Screen ... Again ..

  1. My V2S did have the MRA Sports screen - it's the smallest screen I've seen and worked well for me.
Then I installed an iconic satnav mount .. and you can see in the before pictures how the Garmin XT poked over the top of the screen. Not good.
Before: MRA Racing screen on the left
After: Puig Sports screen on the right

So in case you need to compare screens with satnavs - there you are.

  2. Nice - I had the dark smoke Puig sports screen fitted on my 1200S and it worked well for me... especially with the MRA Vario wind deflector. I've still got the Puig screen and happy to sell if anyone is interested?

  3. And I've got the MRA Sports screen available AND and MRA Touring screen.
I'll get a sales ad sorted.

  4. So you have gone shorter rather than longer?

I only got my 950 at the weekend but thought I would need a higher one such as Puig Touring one which is 8.5 cm higher….

    I am only 5’11” so not a giant….

  5. Welcome to the wonderful (and controversial) world of screens....

  6. Yes - ask 6 people - get 6 answers!!!

And I've contradicted myself and gone a little bit longer.
    Here's the numbers:
    MRA Racing screen : 280mm
    Puig Sports screen: 440mm

440 is still a lot lower than standard.

  7. For me - I bought ..
    - iconic screen spacers - useless no change
    - taller screen - still too much noise and turbulence.
    - lower screen - prefer this.

  8. Have to say I have never tried a lower screen on a bike, have always gone to a touring screen which always seemed slightly better.

will do a few more miles before looking too hard though I think…..

  9. The pikes screen on my 1260 is perfect for me. No buffeting (admittedly, I don’t do long stints on motorways or dual carriageways), and my Garmin XT sits nicely behind it.

It’s also in the for sale section at the moment. :D
