Check Your 1jac

  1. Lifting the Monster onto the 1Jac as usual, when it fell off. No damage to the bike as poor car broke its fall. What's going on? Took a good look at the lifting pin and saw it had collapsed at the end because - inexplicably - the first 10mm was drilled, so rather than a solid pin, you're lifting with a thin walled tube. 2. That’s the same as abba isn’t it?

  3. Dunno about abba, but it was certainly the car's Waterloo.

  4. Disappointing. Lifting bikes: that’s the name of the game for Jac

  5. They are usually drilled to allow for bolt heads/nuts. You might not need that feature but another bike with the same diameter lifting point does. I'm guessing they use that pin on a number of bikes.
I have these type of pins on my Abba. Never a problem unless they're not engaged properly.
