1299 Check Your Detectors

  1. Hi boys and girls,

I just got my 1299 back with a new quickshifter detector installed.

I had forgotten how seamless it is when it's working properly.

If you find your gear changes getting sloppy or jerky ask your dealer to check your unit. They are apparently prone to what has happened to mine. Getting sloppier and sloppier until failure.

I just didn't notice it so much as I ride the bike everyday. But the difference is night and day with this new unit.

    Keep 'er pinned!

  2. Mines like yours was and I keep being told there's nothing wrong with it by the dealers

  3. My S has been unreliable and my new R quickshifter stopped working for a few hours on it's first trackday (1000miles in) last week. I'll get it replaced but will probably swap for a HM shifter.

  4. Interesting.

Mine still in the garage waiting on a new quickshifter now to apparently

hope it gets sorted soon on my summer holidays and riding to be done

  5. Mine is sometimes a bit sticky changing gear and sometimes going into 6 I have to wait ages for the lever to return to middle after changing from 5th. Means sometimes I have to wind 5th gear out a lot before 6th is available. Other times it's fine... Weird.

  6. Have you cleaned and regreased the pivot pin on the gear lever? It gets covered in gunk. Cleaning mine made a noticeable difference to lever action.

  7. Lever feels fine to be honest but will try that

I think it's poorly set rod so 6th is in a difficult position for the QS to return the lever

    Will try that though
