Inane conversations about X-Factory or lucky enough to have some like minded folk? I have a ex bike cop and a cruiser rider in the stores department downstairs - hard to get more than two syllables
We get all that shite out of the way first thing in the morning over a cup of coffee, leaving the rest of the day for other shite.
Where I used to work was populated mostly by women of "a certain age" . All I heard for the first hour every morning would be an hour long soap update...Did my 'ead in, then the rest of the day they'd graze on cake! Glad I'm outta there...
the x factor is shyte and i dont watch it...or anything that has the word 'celebrity' at the beginning of the title.
Don't do soaps or any X factor tripe Having a job with Children with Autism and Communication problems is a world of its own. Often I use pictures to communicate as they do. One of the pupils has her own language and name for me so we converse in that. One of the other pupils I work with will pretend he is a wolf so I have to talk to Mr Wolf. Or another fav is the Parrot puppets I am Harry a blue Fluffy Parrot and he is Max this Mad parrot who is akin with Emu. So I have to think and communicate in pictures , talk to Mr Wolf , or pretend I am a fluffy parrot . Its all fun. Problem is I have a huge lack of adult conversation now. Or I think Literally in Autistic mode I have worked mainly with men all my life. I was one of the first female printers to be voted into a closed shop. I enjoy their conversations. Then I started working with a group of women at another job. It was hell soap operas , what er over the road was doing.. swapping Take a break type mags. Oh and the bitching ! I couldn't deal with it at all. Same as once I was invited to a coffee morning by the end I wanted to slit my wrists. I am not very girly and am the first to admit I struggle to get on with a lot of other females. If they are like me into bikes and stuff thats not so bad. But things like cloths shopping and shoes, and dinner parties and fashion sadly goes over my tufty little head.
