Hi All Haven't taken delivery yet but just part-exed my beautiful 3,000 mile gixxer seven fiddy for a 2012 Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP in Corse colours. I'm grinning from ear to ear and just had to tell someone so here I am new to your forum. Other than the aforementioned I've had other Jap sports bikes, a BMW GS (hungover purchase!) and scrabmblers. Oh and I hadn't ought to forget my gold Honda Monkey that I used to keep in the living room until I got divorced but that's another story. I've had many a sleepless night fretting over whether I should have got the 2013 model with its electronic wizardry and the like but frankly I've managed so far without it, all be it with a good few broken bones, and prefer the look of the soon to be old model, with the under seat pipes, and love the air cooling, dry clutch, etc. That said I could do with a bit more space in the tank, but have heard there is an aftermarket tank so I'll be investigating, and some form of luggage solution so I can nail it to work now and then with enough space for a laptop and an overnight bag - any tips feel free to let me know! see you all around soon
That'll be a bit of a difference from a Gixxer to a Hyper but it'll put smiles on your face for sure. There is an aftermarket tank to increase range but it's mega £££ not sure I could warrant spending that but if you're stopping every 75 miles it might be a PITA.
Sounds like you considered your priorities and made your choice accordingly. I would never trade my "old" hyper for the new model... Welcome and grats on the new bike
Thanks all for your welcome wishes. This year I'm particularly excited as I'll be able to head to the Italian auto show on the real deal (http://www.biamf.co.uk/) and may even catch some of you there....
