Do any forum members have a classic car in their stable/garage/living room . im really enjoying the various shows on tv recently covering selling, finding, renovating etc and im hankering for something old. id love an old morgan 3 wheeler with the jap engine but its beyond my wallet , now the sprite mmm . and as for the jaguars from the show last week , id sell a kidney for one .
Which one? 997,early 998, later 998,970S,1071S,1275S?? At a guess, later 998....... I wish I still had my TR4 (my 4A, IMO wasn't as good).....
I've got a 1965 Mustang Coupe and a 1989 XR3i Cabriolet. Nearly always had classics since passing my test, from Mk1 Cortinas (even they were 26 years old when I got my first), Mk4 Zephyr, Singer Vogue, MG Midget, Jaguar XK6 etc. Most of my friends and family play with cars too so I've driven everything from a 1934 Morris 8 to a Ford 100E to a Pontiac GTO. They're a lot more fun now I have a garage, tools and don't rely on them to get to work...... I've got a '65 Mustang and a '89 XR3i Cabriolet. I guess the XR is a classic now that it's 26 years old and you just don't see them much now - it took quite a while to find one that wasn't boy-racered or rotten. The security guards at our Le Mans campsite last year said it was the best car there.....shame the owner of the McLaren P1 didn't agree and offer to swap!! I have a 1986 Model Porsche 944 with just 58,000 on the clock, a Ford 1934 3 Window Coupe Hot Rod with a 5.85 litre bored out Chevvy engine in it and a 1993 BMW 320 coupe with 57,000 miles on it.
I've got a couple. ( Cue the over done jokes.... ) The highly modified one. Quick little car that leaves much more modern 'hot' hatches for dead. The mint original one with less then 20k miles. One of about ten of this model left. Both appreciating in value nicely and much thanks to Top Gear
