Clear Clutch Cover Question

Discussion in 'Monster' started by Reiss91, Mar 31, 2020.

  1. 2016 Monster 1200 R. Just noticed through my clear clutch cover window that the bearing is randomly stalling. I know it stops when you pull the clutch in. But with the clutch released I’ll randomly see it stalling.
Cause for concern? Or should I replace the pressure plate bearing ?

I believe the clutch control rod to the slave has an anti rotation piece on it so I don’t think that is spinning and ruining the slave.

  2. Well no responses here but I replaced the bearing and everything is as it should be... There is also no way the clutch control rod can rotate which is fantastic.

  3. just jealous of your clear clutch cover lol

  4. I was planning on doing it for a while and then I found a 10% off deal I couldn’t miss out on. Totally changes the look of the bike. Highly recommend! But don’t forget to order a new bearing if you plan on doing one !

  5. If you search the forum, there are very few people on here who have done this mod so not really surprising you didn’t get a response. Andy

  6. It’s ~$800 for something just to look at so that’s understandable. But damn does it look good lol I’m glad I was able to sort it out with no drama. My only gripe is not being aware of swapping/replacing the bearing initially.

This is only do to my lack of research but at the same time it would be nice if it was more obvious. Perhaps even sold as an optional add on or included. Either way it worked out for the best and it looks fantastic. I hope this helps anyone in the future looking to do this mod!
