1098 Clip-ons

  1. have just purchased a beautiful Tricolore (with Gilles rear-sets) and being quite tall I'm wondering which replacement clip-ons would be most suitable: Helibars, Gilles Variobars or Woodcraft.....any thoughts or experience welcome

  2. Hi mate. Just posted a reply in your welcome page.

  3. Thanks mate - however, I've not been able to find that. Am unfamiliar with forum protocol & methods. Cheers, S

  4. i put the renthal clip ons on my 1098 as i have overly long arms. i was able to push them forward and the measurements are all marked on so you can get them the same both sides without getting a ruler out

  5. I would ride it for a few hundred miles before you spend money on the bars.
I have a 916 and the 1098 is like riding a monster after that. I am not particularly tall so I suspect more of a stretch than for you

  6. I think I have some renthal clip one off my 1198 if your interested give me a call 07903607391

  11. you can buy some nice light carbon bars to fit the clamps that aren't too expensive

  12. Do or can the Renthals sit any higher than oem.
I find oem perfectly comfortable, except for my neck, which starts to hurt with the effort of holding my head up high enough to see forward properly. I find myself riding along with my fingertips on the bars sometimes, just to relieve the tension in my neck. I bought a lightweight carbon lid and it does help but doesn't cure the problem.

  13. the best bet for solving that is getting some of the gillies ones with risers as the rental ones sit at about the same position as oem. i might be wrong but getting adjustable rear sets and changing them can help as well. how close do you sit to the tank?

  14. Bang up against it ...
