Not riden for a few weeks and the clitch lever bite is now rigjt at the botyom of the pull - fully pulled in - and bite just above the fully pulled in. Any reason? And how do i adjust so its higher up the pull. Thanks
Your description suggests the clutch needs to be bled with fresh fluid. With an hydraulic clutch your only adjustment is at the lever so if that hasn't been played with, deffo a bleed to get rid of the trapped air. Andy
Dealer job or something I could do with limited spanner skills? Any particular fluid needed? Bike has done anout 3 k miles since service is it usual?
Easily a job you can do yourself with preparation to deal with the used fluid. The standard of fluid will be stated in your hand book but I use Motul and any good DOT4 should be fine. It is unlikely that your service would have included a fluid change unless the receipt said they did. If that is the case I'd be chatting with them in the morning. Hydraulic clutches are notoriously hard on fluid and yes it is something that you could reasonably expect. I'm sure that there will be a You Tube video to give you guidance but it is no different than bleeding car brakes. You need a spanner for the slave cylinder bleed nipple, some small bore tubing, a jar for the used fluid, plenty of absorbant rag/paper to mop up spills and patience. Andy
All done. Small bleed at top end on lever and back to normal. Thanks guys Fluid is grey so assume it may be worth a change at some point soon also.
