Clutch Ajustment

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by pico31, May 9, 2020.

  1. Just had my ST2 clutch in bits, and need to know how tight to do up the springs when I reassemble it
Only ever done clutch on my speedway bikes and we tighten or loosen according to how grippy the track is, any one help me please

  2. Tighten the allen screws until they bottom out and just nip them tight and no more. Be careful to overtighten because the posts are easily broken off. The springs will stop them from loosening.

  3. Just a quick nip up with the Allen key. Don’t swing on it or it’ll pop off. A bit of engine oil on the threads and you’re good to go.

  6. Been into bikes since I was about 7, Used to go to speedway at Odsal with a chap who lived near bye. Started racing karts when I got my first competition licence at 16 from there it was solos and sidecars on the grass and sand, with odd training days at speedway. Had a big crash at Scunthorpe Speedway in 2015 spent a month in hospital. Since then I've had heart and kidney problems and cancer, but the spark has come back and I'll hopefully be back on the road soon

  9. The 1098 is 5nm iirc. They have never really changed from your bike, so I'd go with that. Basically just a nip. :)
