Clutch Basket Torque Setting

  1. I snapped three bolts, thinking I was torquing them up.

I'm super annoyed with myself. What is the torque setting for these? I had my wrench set at 32Nm.

  2. I think I got the wrong torque setting out of the Haynes manual.

  3. I have no experience with wet clutches however the equivalent fasteners on a dry clutch would be just ‘nipped up’.
The basket attachment fasteners would be around 35Nm.

  5. Yes, that sounds like the bolts for the basket itself, I remember thats 34ish. The spring bolts on the dry clutch are only 7 or 8 nm, these will likely be similar.

  6. They look like M6? Probably no more than 10 nm.

  7. I think you did, gurth. Didn’t you think it was a tad high after the first one snapped?

  8. I thought it was the torque wench clicking. It’s only after I finished and stood back did a head drop off.
