Clutch Cover Gasket?

  1. Hey guys, Ive got a leak on my clutch cover-side seal between it and the engine, is this a gasket or is it bonded? i can see the leak and the seal is black and, well, crispy. I tried searching for a gasket on ebay but it returned no results, and would appreciate any pointers, When described over the phone Ducati quoted me £400 for the repair and I'm hoping that's an absolute last resort.

    Thanks, Ben.

  2. What bike or, more specifically what type of clutch? wet or dry?

  3. I have just done a leak on the otherside. You will need Threadbond TB1215 comes in a little red tube with Ducati all over it. Its about £11 from your friendly dealer.

  4. Monster 620 from the profile. Wet, from memory.

  5. In that case I would say; threebond, oil change and an hour's labour - £400 sounds a little steep?

  6. ...or put it on it's side and fix the leak without dropping the oil :)

  7. Thanks very much guys, I whole heartedly appreciate the help, The bike is a steady way of motivating me to learn mechanics and I'm dedicated to doing what I can on my own.

  8. For anybody wondering, I got it done yesterday, let it set until today and took it for a good ride and it held perfectly. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions!
