Bought some new levers and tried to fit them today. All going well until I tried to get the push pin out from the old clutch lever. Cant see how it will come out of it without brute force. Tried the small allen key within the bottom but it just appears to be turning without undoing anything. Can't see how this would allow removal anyway but thought it may do something. I take it there is something simple I am failing to grasp. Any help will be appreciated.
Funnily enough I looked at this on my 900SS just the other day. I replaced the brake lever some time ago after snapping it, and I had not got around to doing the clutch (to match - it's shinier than the original). I was meaning to search the forum for advice! In my case the "Push pin" is sort of conical, and the other end of it which is screwed (I hope) into the barrel has a simple straight screw head; I tried turning it but it did not want to move, and I was not even sure which way to turn it (is it the end of the pin, or some sort of separate "lock screw?). I can't see anything in the manual. Let's hope someone else has done this.
Glad it's not just me who was stumped by this. May have found the answer on another forum. See link below. Did have a half arsed attempt at taking this collar out but failed so thought I was on the wrong track.
