Hi. Has anyone bought anything from this firm: Ducati 900SS 900 SS SL 900SL Kupplungslamellen Kupplung Kupplungsbeläge | eBay I`ve checked the feedback but just thought I`d ask on here. My clutch doesn`t slip yet, but it does make a chattering/squealing noise when you accelerate from a standstill. I`ve been told its called "braying" and it`s caused by worn friction plates. Its made this noise for a while now but a trip to Germany next year has encouraged me to finally fit new friction plates. This firms prices seem reasonable enough but if anyone`s had any good, bad or indifferent dealings with them I would be grateful to know. Cheers.
I've bought from Motorize - absolutely perfect, they even custom-made some parts for me at no extra cost when the ones I bought weren't compatible.
My clutch is pretty new (replaced at 12,000 miles, which is less than a thousand ago) and complains a little when not completely smooth with letting it out. I'm thinking maybe the bearing??
I put a set of their alloy friction plates in my 999. They seem fine, there was an extra plate over standard set so I used it for the quiet clutch jobby. I've only done 3000 on them and don't abuse my clutch so can't vouch for their life.
Thanks guys. Could be something in that. I`ve never been completely comfortable with where the biting point is on the lever travel, it`s ok but I`d like it a fraction closer to the bars. The clutch started making this noise last year. We got lost in Rouen, it was red hot and the traffic was murder. The closed cover I`d put back on for the trip was too hot to touch. I have put a new pressure plate bearing in, made no difference.
