V4 Clutch Problem

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Skye Hook, Jun 17, 2024.

  1. Having an issue with my Multi V4s at 12k miles. The clutch is not engaging until right at the end of the lever travel, wondering if this is worn friction discs perhaps? anyone have anything similar going on?
trying to find a video of clutch pull down is unsuccesful so far too, but i just replaced my 749s clutch so hopefully it is not too intimidating a job?
    what thinkest thou?

  2. Have you tried bleeding the clutch?

  3. not yet as that was done in a service 8 months ago,but will give that a go.

  4. That would be my first thing to try, I very much doubt the plates would be worn at 12k, it takes a lot of miles to wear a wet clutch out.

  5. Bleed at the master cylinder as well. Have you changed your levers? Some levers don’t engage the clutch if they are adjusted too close to the bar

  6. Wind the lever out as far as you can. Solved it for me.
    Try that and report back.

  7. Unlikely to be plates, unless you've been seriously abusing the clutch ;), my V4 PP has covered 28k and no clutch issues so far. As mentioned above, I'd start by bleeding the system.
