  1. Hi Guys,

Does anyone else suffer with clutch slipping when hot - makes it a bit of pain to ride in slow moving traffic.

Also throttle pick up has a bit of a 'deadzone' (best way to describe it) what's the best way to adjust this?

    Thanks

  2. You shouldn't have any clutch slip unless your plates are worn or bad stack height.

  3. As above, you shouldn't have any clutch slip...

With regards to adjust for clutch slip, again as above (look at stack height). Or take a look at the Master Cylinder pressure pin/push rod & barrel to see if there is any length adjustment there.

  4. see if you can get the search engine on here to work - if you put in 'clutch slip' it ought to come up with many threads which will cover the subject in massive detail.
As Steve said, could just be worn friction plates and if it is then could also have affected 'plain steel' plates as if overheated (due to worn friction plates) they can become warped/marked and glazed which will contribute to slippage. It's also possible a previous owner has removed two of the six springs (easy to check) in the quest to make clutch action lighter which sometimes results in clutch slip.

  5. Have you got free play when the lever is fully released?
There should always be a couple of millimetres before you feel the lever start to apply any pressure at all on the pushrod.

  6. Hi Guys,

More I talk to people and read - think the bike is surging. In the sense at low speeds it is slow to pick up and occasionally pulling me forward and is struggling to idle away.

Is there any common issues or things to check for this? I'm thinking an air leak, fuel issue could be causing the problems.

    thanks
