Just got a set of CNC Rearsets from a member on here. Unfortunately the previous owner never fitted them so couldn't answer my question and I wonder if any other forum members might be able to help. Do I use the factory OEM shift rod and connect to the CNC Racing rearset or is a specific CNC racing shift rod needed. I'm thinking maybe they are a different length. The second hand rearset didn't have a shift rod included but photos on the net suggest it might possibly be supplied with a CNC racing shift rod.
The CNC web site appears to have downloads of parts diagram and fitting instructions for all their rearsets. Andy
Thanks for the reply Andy but it's that download that's causing the confusion, as it shows the CNC rearset has a CNC shift rod (part no.2 in below drawing) which I don't have. Unfortunately I'm not with my bike to check if the OEM shift rod will fit so was hoping some one could clarify what exactly is needed and then if needed I will buy the cnc shift rod, so I have all the parts needed when I come to do the job next week. Thanks for any help that can be offerdd
I had this same problem when buying a second hand set. I managed to use the original Ducati shift rod, but it was a bit of a bodge and gave a slightly stiff movement. I've since been sent by the very helpful vendor the CNC rod, so there is definitely a difference between them.
@Regenwulf is correct. You do need the CNC part. They are very nice rearsets, only let down slightly by the quality (or lack thereof) of the rod-ends that they use. If any of your rod-ends devlop play, replace them with better quality items from McGill Motorsport or similar.
