Yeah - bit of a click bait post.... In our front room weve got a 4k telly (slightly old LG OLED - the last of the 3d ones) - ive got a satellite receiver and a Denon 4k 7.1 receiver....one of the things thats never worked properly (and now doesnt work atall) was the ARC (Audio return channel) and the HDMI-CEC - ie if you plug all the HDMI cables in (one remote - anyone of the 3) "Should" be able to control everything else....like fuck does it...so i registered on the denon site and got the obligatory email "would you recommened Denon to a friend" so i wrote a scathing reply on their site.....4 years after i bought the amp (it got a firmware update today) coincidence or no....? ARC still doesnt fucking work but hey...its a start..!
You tried using fiber optic connection? or phono shite..prehaps your HDMI cable isn't up to standard. The whole handshake scenario really bothers me, though I am shortly going upto Rochdale too pick up my fourth & final Jamo D7 subwoofer. I'd scale back your cables to rememdy your issue, Marantz man myself.
Yeah - theres an optical in there at the moment....all the HDMI cables are high quality IXOS ones.....
I had similar issues with an LG tv and Yamaha soundbar, bought a new Hisense 4K tv, cheap £350 (sick of paying top dollar for the latest and greatest to be out of date within 3 months) and the hdmi works great. Also as it runs on the Roku platform it covers all the bases for streaming and media sharing services. Really grips my shit when you pay £3k for a tv and then have to buy a dongle to plug into it to get the services you want. The picture quality isn’t “up there” but it’s bloody good for £350 thinking it’s probably time to upgrade the soundbar though as doesn’t support the latest formats
