Hi all, Just purchased the Ducati 749 Biposto on an 04 plate. Previously owned Gixxer k1 and k4 600's. Quite a big difference so far but all for the better. Handles so well sounds awesome and looks the dogs! I'm looking to remove my pillion seat to make it a single seater. I've been looking but I've noticed a couple of different options of doing this? I'm not keen on the shorter ones that allow a large amount of the exhaust on show. I've seen a full carbon fibre one but I'm struggling to find a picture of one on a bike to see where it comes up to on the exhaust. Any suggestions on what I'm best going for or even better any pics of different ones. Like I say I'm brand new and don't know a great deal about them yet. Thanks in advance lee.
Hi lee and welcome to the ownership of a great bike that nobody liked when it was launched but strangely are now known as future classics. If you wanna fit a genuine ducati monoposto tail unit you'll need to fit the subframe as well as there not the same as the biposto unit as I found out when converting my biposto to a mono. It will show a lot more of the exhaust as the mono tail unit is shorter but if that's not to your fancy then try Design Corse as they do a direct replacement for the padded part of your biposto. You should be able to find them on here and there web site looks good too. I've also seen a lot of Chinese fairing kits on ebay but you never can tell what the quality is like.
