Is anyone using a constand center lift on a monster 937 SP ? I am trying to find out if the stand listed for the standard 937 will fit the sp as it is about 40mm higher ! not knowing the product I am unsure and have asked the question of constand uk and also Motea uk and neither are replying to my emails... Also they do not seem to list the monster 937 sp Idealy another sp owner is using one and can help !
FWIW, if you do end up buying, check the site on a daily basis. That 20% discount regulalry increases to 35%. I held out for the bigger discount when buying a tyre removal kit recently. Only took a couple of days' delay to me placing an order.
maybe or maybe not, have paid a charge when buying from motea previously but my purchase in december only incurred a £6 or£7 handling charge from ups
I think you pay about 20% on purchase of £135 + But I cant find an alternative in the uk ! that aside I still cant find out if it will work with the sp Grrrr
I have a constand centre lift which I use on my BMW S1000RR, I also purchased an additional mounting plate kit from Motea for my Scrambler Desert Sled too. The flat mounting plate has two holes which you attach to the constand which has 3 different vertical holes for mounting the plates to the constand. I estimate the distance of the holes on the constand to be around 15mm vertical height difference per hole. You choose the height position of the mounting plate on the constand when you attach the plate and it is flexible in height to suit where you want it to suit each bike - The Sled was much taller than the BMW so I was able to use a different hole config for each bike. Also the plate moves up and down when attached to the constand as you raise and lower the lever so you raise the lever slightly to get it close to the height of the socket holes on the bike and lean the bike onto the pegs sticking out of the mounting plate. Because I used to change the mounting plates between the two different bikes, I wrote on the plate with indelible ink which two holes to use for which bike as they were different. The Desert Sled was significantly taller on the mounting position than the BMW, so the attachment holes for the mounting plate to the constand were different and I was easily able to get each bike onto the same constand stand and get both wheels off of the ground. In short, you have nothing to worry about, it is a single flexible lift designed for lots of different bikes. Motea are a good company to deal with, very quick and as mentioned earlier you'll probably have to pay VAT as duty on £135+ purchases from Germany (I think there might be an option to pay Motea the UK VAT in advance which will save you time and money from the shipping company trying to charge you) and it will arrive in just a few days. Tip, keep the mounting pegs for the bike greased or lubricated and don't let them dry out, it is a right pfaff when that happens, separating the bike from the mounting plate on the constand. I actually prefer my ABBA stand when working on my bikes, I have the facility to raise the front and rear wheel and wheel it around the garage on their trolley. I tend to use the constand for cleaning purposes or removing the rear wheel. Watch the Motea constand video here, you'll see the silver mounting plate with the pegs sticking out of it at the end of the video, that's the one I refer to earlier in this post which you can raise or lower against the constand when you set it up. The mounting instructions are here
Thanks Steve As it happens I had one delivered today, I decided to give it a try as they offered 35% The stand was £167 and I had to pay £52 tax/duty. I bought the one for the 937 and 937+ as the sp was't listed but it fits albeit with a slight lift to initially mount it to the bike its to early to give an informed opinion at at the moment but im minded that is is as you say a "Right Faff" to get it on and off I will try a little Grease and adjustment tomorrow in the hope that it improves the use of said stand and hope I don't regret my purchase.
Well done! Try dropping the mounting plate a hole lower and you shouldn't have to lift the stand to get it on the bike. it should still get both wheels of the floor. Use petroleum jelly rather than grease on both the mounting pegs and the corresponding mount holes on the bike, that way it doesn't ruin your biker gear.
Turns out the fixing that attaches to the bike has a thread issue have requested a replacement but I'm not so sure thats going to work either . TBC
