  1. Hi anyone used these tyres on a 1098?
I need a good priced set of tyres that will last well and offer good road riding grip through out the year rain or shine.
The reviews i've read have been good.

  2. l use them on my 888 cant fault them for a road tyre great in the wet
great dry maybe not a trackday tyre but they warm up on the road and work
    regards Steve B

  3. Michelin pr3's or Dunlop sportsmarts.

  4. Cheap tyre

  5. M&P are selling Bridgestone BT016 pairs for £139 at the moment.

  6. Whats's fitting costs loking like nowadays?

  7. The downside to buying tyres online is getting the buggers fitted. Some garages charge a fortune for fitting if they haven't supplied the tyres, so best to ring round first. Merit Tyres are normally pretty cheap, my local garage does them for £20 a pair if I just take the wheels in.

  8. And there-in lies the rub.

I tried this a few years ago and found it was a smidge more expensive just to ride my bike in and get them to supply/change the tyres for me.

  9. Depends on the tyres mate. If you really must have the latest tyres you won't save much at all by shopping online, but if you're happy to go with an older design or less popular brand you can save hundreds. My fuglystrada has some super sticky Dunlops (can't remember without going to the shed) bought online for £112 and fitted for £20. Now that's a bargain in anyone's book.

  10. True. But the last two lots of tyres I put on my R1 were Maxxis. Excellent tyres and excellent prices fitted too.

I cant remember exactly but when I had the front and rear changed last time I think I paid something like £139 the pair (fitted). And that was just about the same cost of a Bridgestone rear IIRC.

  11. Hi
My local motorcycle service centre fit tyres to loose wheels for £10 each and they dispose of the old tyres.
So i get good sports touring tyres all for £156.
M&P selling Conti motions for £136

Read that the BT016 are not good in the wet, something that we all have to do at sometime if we want to use our Duc's and will not last long.

  12. Maxxis for £139 fitted wow.
I know they used to be cheap but i have noticed that around my next of the woods, midlands, they are nearly as much as premium brands fitted.

  13. I guess they may have hiked the price up since I had a pair fitted to the R1, as that was around 12-18 months ago. But it was definitely in that ball park as I remember seeing the price for the BT rear.

  14. Hi El Toro
Where do you buy your tyres from?
If its close by it might be worth a phone call.

  15. I read too that Continental Contimotion tyres are very good and well priced. Many praising reviews on them for grip wet and dry and their wear rate. I'd say go for it, they were fitted to my Fazer when i bought it and the guy swore by them.

  16. I had them on my Griso, and to be honest they just felt wooden to me.
