Converting From A Speed Triple

  1. Hi all, am very close to doing a deal on a new Mts1200s. Have rode the BMW xr and then the Mts last Saturday, I preferred the Mts, but the missus preferred the BMW! Found the BMW to vibey and a little too soulless for me. The Mts was great, loads of power and very comfy for me but the missus didn't like the pillion seat on the Mts as it chafed her inner thighs as she only has short legs. I did tell her to open her legs a bit more, which earned me one of those "looks" . Am coming of a 2012 speed triple, which I still love as the soundtrack is amazing due to arrow cans, but I am starting to find it a little uncomfortable of late . I am currently researching to see what I can do to make the front of the pillion seat narrower, so the missus can be happy as well. Any tips?

  2. Trade in the missus for a more adaptable model?

  6. Do it do it do it
Your other half will get used to it the more she does it
    Sudacream is great for chaffing
Failing that get her test done and get her own bike ;)

Oh and hello and welcome into the mad house :)

  7. Welcome Dave:)

  8. I've had my 1100evo Monster seat reshaped so it doesn't push me forward so much. It shouldn't be a problem getting the passenger area reshaped. If you are anywhere near Manchester, Matt at Caulfield Leather will sort it out. If not, any decent bike seat upholsterer can do it. Much cheaper than a new seat, and in my experience, more successful too.

Much, much cheaper than a divorce and new wife...

  10. Hi and welcome to the forum :)

  11. Well if you are not prepared to go the whole hog and divorceher , then perhaps an easier , less stressful and even cheaper alternative would be to get her a pair of padded cycling shorts .

  12. Thanks for the replies and welcome guys. Think I'm going to look at having the seat reshaped. Will have a look at caulfield leather, cheers EvoAde
