1200 Corbin Seat

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by ymfb, Jun 27, 2015.

  1. Has anyone fitted a Corbin seat on an MTS ? I have one on my F800GS, its great and my butt aches on the MTS after about an hour, but my wife (Pillion) is quite comfy.

If anyone has one for sale I would be very interested.

  2. I fitted Sargent Seats to mine, they worked out fine for me, although I never found the OEM Seat uncomfortable. I was looking for a slightly lower seat height.

There are some pics on a thread I did at the time. 27Aug13.

if I was smart enough I would have included a link for you but I'm sorry I don't know how to do that.

  3. I also found the standard seat uncomfortable on my 2013 bike. I fitted a lowered Sargent seat which was comfortable however the shape is more "bucket" like so you feel the edge when putting a foot down, not a problem just different. Having traded up to 2015 model, I'll be putting the Sargent seat set up for sale once I get my act together.

  4. Hi Steve, do you still have the Corbin seat? if so any photos?

  5. I don't have a Corbin seat, but I do have a Sargent seat set. It's the lowered riders seat with the Sargent pillion seat. I couldn't resist the red piping. The seat set will fit any 2010 to 2014 model. See the Saregnt Seats web site for more details.

Both the riders and pillions seats are a fair bit wider than the standard Ducati seat. The riders seat has more of dish shape to it with a definite edge, so tends to hold you in place. You can feel the edge when you put your foot down, which makes it a bit more of stretch than the Ducati lowered seat - not a problem but it's different.

The padding is a bit thin on the lowered seat because of the dish shape, again not a problem in use. I have no comfort problems with the seat, I can do 300 miles / 6 hours riding without issue. The pillion seat has a handy pocket, on the last tour I used it store a small tyre pump from Rocky Creek (£36 on Amazon).

I will be putting the seat up for sale, as I've traded my 2013 bike into a 2015 DVT model. Just haven't got round to it yet.
