  1. Cork had an average months rain in 24 hours yesterday. Video footage shows how awful it’s been.

Are you ok @West Cork Paul ?

  12. Not the first time Cork has suffered this
Paul is in Schull 60 miles west of Cork City, hopefully that part of the country was best able to cope.

  16. Bit floody here as well. That's actually a pedestrian underpass with the water up to the roof. Mind you, the useless council having been getting stick for years for failing to keep drains and gullies clear.

  17. Ooh! That's harsh.

  18. well, storm "Big Jaikit" didn't come to much here this time. maybe a lil blowy, but mostly sunny this week, tho it is a bit wet today. which is kinda cool cos that means i get to do jack shit all day without feeling guilty about it.
however, the east and north did get it bad and several have died as a consequence.

  19. Thoughts with anyone suffering or worrying about potential flooding. We live near five rivers so constantly checking the flood warnings at this time of the year.

We usually have a couple of days notice as upstream gauges are accurate. The cottages opposite have flooded since we moved here 20 years ago, it was half way up our driveway. A few years ago the storm drain pipe was significantly increased in diameter but the fear is still real.

  20. It was a bit wet here earlier in the week, but looking on the bright side, no more rain for at least a month now :joy:……

    Oh, how I wish.
