999 Correct Mileage Or Not ?

  1. Hi,
I recently got a 06 999s that I'm pulling down and cleaning up. I took the instrument cluster off and notice the manufacture date of it is 9/10/03.
Is it possible the production of the cluster and bike are two years apart ?
I would not be surprised if it wasn't the original cluster but the condition of the bike and mileage would appear to be on par !

    Cheers scott

  2. Possible yes, but the 999 clocks are coded to the ECU so that would have needed to be replaced also

  3. It's had a termi half system put on it so would the ECU have been changed then ?

  4. It should have yes, if you've got the red key I think/believe you can recode with this

  5. Pictures? :)

  6. I'll take some today. Bike is strewn all over the shed floor !!!

  7. What are the dates on the fairing panels, the air-box, the air tubes etc? All will have year and month dates on them. It would be surprising if the clocks were original if 2 years out from the build date - but not impossible with Ducati.

  8. Well air box, fairings, headlight housing, air tubes all have late 05 stampings on them.
The bike was dropped at some stage so I know some fairings were replaced. It just seems strange the headlight housing corresponds date wise and not the cluster. I say that only assuming that when bike was dropped cluster was damaged but not headlight housing. I guess it's possible it just popped out though !!
Anyway it's no real concern to me it was just curiosity !
