correct way to lock a cargo net to a Monster? how safe is using a net anyway?

  1. hi everyone
I bought the Oxford cargo net, and it took me a while to figure out how to lock it in.
I put 2 hooks underneath the back of the seat (top of the stop light) where there are some metal holes.
then I have put two hooks on each side, where I could.

also, I have a general safety concern here: I was carrying a helmet in the net yesterrday. how safe is that? isn't it enough that 1 or 2 hooks release by accident (or the net string breaks) and you could potentially kill someone if the helmet is released?

maybe I am being overcautious, but I would be tempted to use the cargo net only for light items, like a jacket, but carrying a helmet would be some convenient.

    any thoughts?
    thank you

  2. You seem a tad confused. Carry what you think is safe in the cargo net.

  3. more than confused, I would say concerned.
Cranker, do you carry a helmet on the cargo net?

  4. No, but have done in the past and its precarious when making progress.

  5. "when making progress" ?

  6. Ok I am queen of cargo nets :) I will show you a horrendous photo later of my worst packing ever but it got home ok.
    luckily just down the road.
Use 2 nets if not sure ... thats what I do .
And look up Rock straps I think they are called .

I know naff but I can't carry alot on my back.
