hi everyone. looking to buy D16RR. quick question: I've heard that in mainland europe those bikes change hands for EURO 20K or so… in UK looks like people asking £35-£40k (I've been looking for couple of months now) would appreciate everyone's opinion on what would be a good price to pay for one of those…
That's £16.5k in proper money (20kish less than in the UK). I think you'l be very, very, very, very lucky to buy one for that. If they are selling for £16.5k on the continent, there's a real business opportunity in importing them and selling them in the UK if you ask me. Can you point me in the direction of where you have seen this?
£35-40K seems to be market value at the moment - more with the GP7 exhaust system. I paid £55K for mine in Nov 2012 with the GP7 fitted but it had the unique benefit of coming brand new from Ducati (pretty certainly the last one worldwide) so it came with 3 yrs warranty and 3 yrs free servicing included which to my mind made it worth the cost. If I hadn't stumbled across it I would have bought the latest numbered, lowest mileage second hand one I could find. A few bikes have had top end problems which can be very expensive if outside warranty.
I sold my standard low mileage (853 mls!!) late numbered (1432/1500) 1 owner 09 plate to a trader last week for £36k cash. It needed a service as it was last serviced 2 years ago but otherwise nothing required. He reckoned the bike would sell for around £40k once serviced.

It would have cost me £2k to keep the bike (£1300 ins, £600+ svc, £80 road tax, £30 MoT) so considering it was a hassle free sale and collected by van from my place, it worked for me. The 'Team' version bike for sale there has been up at £43k for a while so I expect there's some wriggle room in the pricing too.

Hi Bradders27 and welcome to the forum, My bike went here: Used Bikes for Sale in Sheffield - The Bike Specialists | Sheffield | South Yorkshire (Sheffield) and as far as I'm aware is still for sale. James Holland (owner of the business) said he was going to get the bike serviced at Ducati Manchester before selling on. Whilst selling this bike is my only experience of them, they seem a very friendly and genuine business so I'd have no problem recommending them. James is always looking to buy bikes (he's a bike nut himself, in fact he doesn't possess a car of his own, preferring his 1200GS Adv) so there may be a deal with yours that suits if you give him a call.
