I've always had a soft spot for the Siouxie and the Banshees version of "Trust in Me" (from Disney's Jungle Book cartoon!)
Roger Daltrey's version of Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" from "The Lost Boys" soundtrack. Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me ~ Roger Daltrey - YouTube
toro, youve lost the plot there mate..that song is total shite. The arrangement and limp wristed performance and pedestrian tempo are totally irrelevant to the uplifting nature of the lyric..this is a 3rd rate pub band dirge....much like the rest of indie/pop call ti what you will. You gets my goat, is that these shoe gazer bands are thought of as 'guitar bands'...as a professional guitarist, that hurts.
