Monster 1100S MY09. In order to change the cam belts I need to remove the horizontal exhaust. In order to remove that I need to remove the Lambda sensor. In order to remove that I need to remove the crankcase breather valve so I can get a spanner on the Lambda sensor. In undoing the jubilee clip and pulling up the breather pipe the top half of the valve came away with it . It seems there's nothing securing the top half to the bottom half. Is that right? Is it just glued together? Is it repairable? On the positive side I now know why there was always a mist of oily dirt over the rear of the engine, clearly an insufficient seal. TIA
It's supposed to be one piece, presumably bonded in the manufacturing. If you could get it properly clean and degreased I guess it could be glued together with something like a plastic epoxy. A new one is around £65 so probably worth trying first.
