  3. Won't happen. He's got a bit more sense than that

  4. Don't think it'll happen. I think he's being lined up for a factory yamaha ride.

    I could be wrong.

  5. That article is a year old.

After his performance this year and Ducati's struggles? I really can't see him committing suicide.

  6. Same as it ever was ...

The one thing you can say about Cal is he won't give up and will try 110 percent. A one year deal won't wreck his career. Put yourself in his shoes, if you get an offer to ride a Factory Ducati.

No Brainer unless there's a better offer on the table.

  7. I see what you're saying; One year contract, Rossi leaves at the end of 2013, seats up for him on Yamaha. Hasn't got much to lose only having one year on Ducati but even though he desperately wants a factory ride, he'd be so far behind everyone, he'd end up being frustrated for the whole year.

Everybody knows the Ducati has come to a standstill development-wise, I don't think he'd stand for it really.

  8. There is another option as well. After showing Pedrosa a clean pair of heels recently you can bet your bottom dollar Honda are looking.

I wouldn't be at all surprised!

  9. actually, scratch that.

this could actually be genius by Ducati

  10. Still think he may have done enough for a 3rd factory Yamaha, bit like Bradl and Honda. Wouldnt be surprised if he's running factory stuff now (didnt one ofthe guys confirm it was a factory bike 2 rounds ago!?) hence he has moved to fighting for that podium spot

be great to see Sykes bag the WSBK, Redding the Moto2, Lowes WSS and Cal to formally get factory Yamaha for 2014....or will he gran Bradl seat?!

  11. ..and hasn't moaned about it too

  12. Or The liability Batista's factory Honda.

  13. ....and lets hope he manages a real pole position on it too ;-)

  14. Cal gets pole and finish's on the podium
Cal gets no uk main press coverage until.................

Cal go's to the F1 gp at silverstone on sunday promoting tech 3's main sponsor
and you guessed it! get's a mention in the main press outlets

  15. Lol funny innit. Smith makes more BBC pages than Redding or Cal combined I reckon.

But it doesn't matter. Its not the PR, its the rider ability remember ;-) lol

In all seriousness, its a load of bollocks he hasn't had a load of coverage. He has done what no other ex-WSBK rider has done, didn't come thru the usual 125 Spain route and has had to adapt and overcome. Sure he isn't a media darling, unlike Shakey and Hodgson (shit I reckon Ellison had as much press wandering around the rear) but he is top 5 in GP

  16. nope, your right. He's pretty shit at getting off the line :(

the flipside is that its a pretty easy thing to work on so hopefully if he gets his head down, a new factory yamaha (the one with the fuel tank moved) then he can start races better, get up to pace quicker and not lose the front 2 or 3 riders.

  17. Like him or not, he's about the best Brit on the grid at the moment. I think another year or so of experience will see him mature and gain experience. It'd be great to see what he could do on a full factory Yamaha.
