Can someone tell me the size of the hex key for the bolts that pass through the centre of the cush drive rubbers on a 2015/16 DVT? Thanks in advance.
Thanks Andy. It’s the other side of the cush drives, at the back of the sprocket .They are large hex sockets. I’ve got some replacement sprocket nuts but the Cush drives are rotating.
10 mm. And they are cast in the rubbers more than pass through if you know what I mean. Pull the whole sprocket hub off the bike and clamp it in a vice to make the job a bit easier.
Many thanks laava, I realised that they aren’t through bolts. I was reiterating The Bar Man’s post just to find the hex drive size, which you have been good enough to let me know. May well pull the hub off to make life easier. Appreciated, Rob.
It’s not 100% necessary to remove the hub - depending on your tools it is possible to insert a long 10mm hex from the wheel side and do each Cush one at a time.
Cheers RickyX, Figured I might be able to do that. Can see enough clearance under swing arm and consequently ordered a long hex key to give it a go. Thanks for your input. Rob.
I did my chain and sprockets last week which you need to remove the hub for. I removed the nut but the hub was very glued on to the spline and was very reluctant to come off. Squirt lots of wd40 and bang it on and off, on and off etc until it starts to move and then you can just wiggle it back and forward until it comes off. Worth doing, just so you know it is free tbh!
