Ok guys I'm just thinking out loud here.. but do you think there is any potential benefit of having a custom tune on a stock engine ? Working on the theory that the factory tune has to allow for Euro emission's and fuel quality etc, I wonder if having the engine remapped could help it run smoother and more responsive in the low to mid rpm range ? My previous bikes, an ST2 and a Multi 1100 both benefited from a remap, (not just the top end power, but the way the bike ran at lower rpm's) but I also put on Termi's, hi flow air filters and air snorkel removal to achieve the result. I'm kinda past the loud exhaust thing now in my old age As I said... its just a thought
That's an interesting question. In the absence of any physical mods (other than disabling the exhaust flap) , I suppose the answer would be contingent on improving the Air/Fuel ratio assuming any improvement is there to be had.
absolutely ... tweaking with the A/F mixtures throughout the RPM range can improve performance. the stock A/F settings are to allow the bikes to pass EU emissions (both sound and pollutants in the air).
