  1. Hi All
So I Have an issue and I think I might know what it is but thought I'd put it out there for someone to hopefully prove me wrong.
I have a 2011 Touring S with 30K miles on the clock, It's been 100% faultless whilst I've owned it but it's been sitting in the garage for most of the year until I took it out for a ride yesterday. It only fired up on 1 cylinder and would not clear for ages, the second cylinder finally cut in after about 5 mins of riding it but occasionally went back to just 1.
Gone back out to the garage today and it fired up on 2 but then dropped to 1 but then ran as normal.
Take a look at the pics, there is water coming from the exhaust manifold and it's dripping on the floor, there's not much there but what are your thoughts?

  2. Not to worry you but it may be the cylinder head corrosion issue. The original coolant was corrosive and the cylinder heads we slightly porous. This happened to mine 2010 model but luckily just as the warranty was expiring. The coolant was replaced with a recall.

But hopefully yours may not be this of course!

I did this video at the time:

  3. This is exacly what mines doing and this was my thought of what was happening, thanks for the post, id better get dismantling

  4. Beat me to it!!

I had similar, although well inside warranty I ended up having both heads replaced and had to run the bike in again, not sure if it was coolant/corrosion related or just a Friday afternoon special.

  5. It usually affected the front cylinder.

  6. Could be worth asking your local friendly dealer to check if the recall was done for the coolant and if the good will warranty still applies. If you don’t ask you don’t get!
