1200 DVT D-air Issue.

  1. The D-Air error warning light has come on the dashboard, on my 2015 DVT. It was coming on and going off intermittently for a bit but is now on constantly. Does anyone know anything about the D’air system? I wonder if (since the machine is coming up 3 years old) it has come on to indicate a service of the D’air system is required.

I use the D-Air vest with it but that seems to be working fine.

In the past the warning light has come on periodically when I’ve stopped at petrol stations to fill up. I presumed it was some radio signal interference. And this time the light came on whilst at a petrol station too.

Is there a way to reset/reboot the system? I’ve pulled the fuse and put it back but no joy.

It’s booked in with the dealer but they are talking about a potentially expensive wiring issue.

    Cheers.

    John.

  2. Hi there - I had the same error you describe with my D-Air, intermittent to start with, switch on and off and it would go away. But finally it wouldn't clear. I got it repaired under warranty, but I know it took a long time to get the part (sensor?).

I hadn't wanted a D-Air but at the time I bought the dealer had one in stock and gave me a big discount (same price as a standard 1200S DVT). I didn't use the jacket so it isn't bother me. Eventually I did start getting other errors stating just before it was repaired.

If you have extend warranty you should be fine, just don't wait to get it diagnosed. If not see it Ducati will do a goodwill repair. (If you always had it dealer serviced they are often helpful with the claim)

PS I just re-read your post, one reason I didn't buy the jacket is it needs to be serviced by Ducati (Dainese?) every three years so I expect that might be the issue :)

  4. It’s out of warranty now but fingers crossed it’s a simple fix. Thanks a lot for your feedback.

  5. Hi John
Did you get this resolved? Ref. my post today. My d'air symbol is permanently on! Bike is 30months old and out of warrantee!
    Regards Vince.

  6. Hi Vince,
Apologies for the slow response. It was a palavar but after 4 trips to the dealer I have now finally resolved the issue. It turned out that the wiring on the front fork Dair sensors had broken. The outer sleeve of the cable split and the inner wiring severed. Ducati replaced the sensors as a goodwill job. I understand this is an issue Ducati are aware of and the wiring has now been modified.
