My standard chain is coming towards the end of its life (899) tight spots and corrosion only after 10k which is slightly disappointing as I do maintain the chain regular so considering getting a gold ZVM-X one is that going to be a far superior chain compared to a standard one?
If you wanna buy a ZVM-X then fine as it's a good chain, if you wanna know for yourself which chains will resist stretching and distortion better then look at chain specs from each manufacturer.
Think your lucky to have got that sort of mileage out of the stock chain, changed mine after 3000 when i had an 899 as it had rusted. When i bought the 1299 i had it changed at PDI to one of these http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk/buy/R...ace-Drive-Chain-1199-Panigale-/520RR4-120.001 So far looks fine after 4000+ miles.
Used DID for a few years, now using an Afam kit which is far superior. Mileage so far in excess of 12000 miles with only 3 adjustments needed in that time, sprockets doing very well too. Best kit i have ever used in nearly 40 years.
Fitted the DID zvm-x to my streetfighter, Imo there as good as it gets, Done around 1000miles and its not stretched one bit, Defo looks the part to
