Dainese 2 Piece Leathers

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by James85, Jan 23, 2016.

  1. Hi, looking for feedback from anyone with Dainese 2 piece leathers. I am looking at Laguna seca or avro. What's the main differences?? Is the Laguna worth the extra £s?
    Regards
    James

  2. On the Dainese web site they have a list of symbols for each suit. Main difference seems to be the Avro is more an all year round touring suit. I bought my Dainese 2 piece branded for Ducati but then all my riding kit is Dainese both leather and fabric because it does the job. Andy

  3. I've a 2 piece, nice leathers. But the need for an In boot makes boot choice a bit more limited.

  4. My black Dainese 2-piece leather suit is an Avro size 58. What do you want to know?

  5. How it fits? Comfort? What boots do you wear with it??

  6. I'm looking at the same ones. I would like the ones with the thermal liner but they are big money!

This is the one I want, think it's a d1

  7. The Laguna seca is a more straight fit, and also has the thermal liner which is really useful for colder evenings, the Avro (I think) and the D1 I pictured are slim fit and a more race cut I think

  8. The Avro fits quite snugly with a slim fit - a bit too slim really. Very comfortable even on long rides. Zips together really well. Not enough pockets, only one pocket in the jacket. Good for warm weather, but in cold weather you need another good layer. The shoulder, elbow and knee armour is good, the back not so much. The waistband of the trousers is not really elastic enough to keep them up properly - I modified them so I can attach braces. I wear Sidi boots which go with the suit quite well, I think.

  9. I'm planning on driving down to Dainese Manchester next month (live in Glasgow). I'm quite stocky built, broad up top ect. 5,9. 13.5stone. Slim fit is a no go area! I love the look of Dainese and would like to couple the suit with there in boots.

  10. Maybe look at alpinestar, I'm 14stone, quite even build and found the trousers snug but the jacket quite loose across the shoulders (size 54) and arms, my mate also finds the same thing and he is about 13.5st and a little shorter than me

  11. I'm in alpinestars the now, jacket is ok but the trousers are I bit tight and restrictive at the thighs and crotch. I wouldn't say I'm a bit guy but everything seems to be made to fit really skinny guys. I recently had problems finding jeans to fit! Nothing but straight cut fitted!!

  12. Italian brand stuff mate, it is all cut with small legs, throw a 54 from someone like RST and it will be like wearing a pair of jogging bottoms, I think I'll have to go 56 to get my tree trunk thighs in

  13. Exactly!!! Il just try the size up and see how it feels. Hopefully doesn't look too stupid

  14. I struggled to get my calfs in the alpinestar challenger suit today, most frustrating.

  15. It's not like I have huge legs!! Play a bit of ice hockey so a bit of muscle.. Nothing crazy. I'm a 32-33 waist. End up having to buy 34 waists and wear a belt just so my thighs and arse fit in!!!
Hoping if I drive down the the Manchester store they will have enough for my to try on and find something that fits

  16. I have the Laguna seca which is a two piece race suit complete with hump.
It's not the warmest of suits but a good under suit I find is enough to take the edge off.
It's quite snug initially but a few squats / rides loosens it up nicely.
Best suit I've had, prefer it to my one piece.

  17. When you say not the warmest.... Is that with the liner in?? I wear under armour gear anyway ( always cold up her in Scotland lol)

  18. Why don't you pop into Ducati Glasgow and try on their range of Ducati branded Dainese stuff ? Give you a heads up on sizes before going all the way to Manchester. Andy

  19. Il pop in but they don't keep much stock
