Well it's been ages since I've been back from this tour and just as long since I've added further drivel to the forum. I've just been so busy with work recently I've hardly used the bike. I guess it's not been a bad thing in some sense as I got sent to the states on business for a bit (Vegas) and just recently have been bumped up the hierarchy with a pay rise to boot.......bonus Fear not, there's plenty of blithering rubbish built up so to start my return I thought I'd whack some pictures on of the 'tour de France' we did. It's a yearly bike trip I tag on to with a good bunch of firemen (my mates in the service), there tends to be lots of beer and a mixture of riding skills but overall they're a great laugh. This year was purely France and just the one place in Belgium. I'll be honest I don't 100% know the exact routes we took or each and every town we rode to /through. I remember Reims (BIG lager) and of course the Champagne regions, I remember Dunkirk beach and ice cream.......Oh and I definitely remember the shittest hotel I've ever stayed in and waking up in the morning facing a bare blokes arse across the room I'd only met days before.......awkward So, a few pics roughly in order Setting off on my own and trying to catch them up somewhere near calais, it was bloody hot that day and I took more clothes than I do away for a week on our family holiday......I mean these top box things are hideous but they're also like a fucking tardis My view whilst sweating my arse off on the euro tunnel for about an hour and a half because of a delay......no engines meant no air conditioning and a very unhappy Damo. If I could have sat in my pants I would have My mate showing a margin of excitement following the beer delivery in Reims.....pah, champagnes for girls Erm....somewhere in France And somewhere else in France......could be the same place actually......it looks nice though, I'm sure it was lovely Ah, now I remember this bit, after blasting for miles through some country roads the smell just hit me so had to stop for a closer look, of course the game of 'stash the hash' commenced and the rules were quite simple, how many days could we ride before 'the chosen' noticed vegetation behind fairings and we got stopped by police Now this bloke is pretty famous apparently No wonder he looks so happy with a house like this And it didn't take long to work out how he paid for it and where I went wrong in life Now, this could be Belgium but I'm not sure And we had some random tag along mini bike rider Ah....now this......well, this is the morning after the night before and some upgrades to the highest ranking fire officers bike......good job he's not my boss And this, well, this is the best I could make Dunkirk beach look, it's almost tropical don't you think? A little disappointed that the monument for our boys was so small but we had a rum and raisen ice cream in honour and a little quiet time. All in all a great trip, bikes not been used since unfortunately and got dropped off with Nelly at Cornerspeed Saturday morning for the service. After the bike show today I really fancy a ride out so can't wait to get her back.
