899 Dash Fault Help

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by zx6ghost, Feb 21, 2016.

  1. Hi all
Took the bike out today after riding yesterday in heavy rain, noticed after a while the dash was stuck in 1st gear bike clearly not , also felt above 8000 rpm the bike did not want to drop the revs when you rolled of the throttle, n light also not present even when in neutral dash still indicates 1st even when in neatrul as soon as you put the stand down it cuts out

So dash thinks it's in 1st all the time won't indicate Any gear change or neutral and seems to want to keep all revs up when you're moving thru 8000 rpm and it's like oh we don't want to slow down today

Any ideas . Sorry if this has been asked before couldn't find a search using a crap tablet

    Thanks steve

  2. Could be Gear Position Sensor. Sounds like a similar problem i had on my 1199.

  3. Yep sounds like gear position sensor, had very similar on my multi

  6. Do you have your engine braking control switched off, or is that a fault?

  7. Nope new fault - Along with The gear selector fault and engine light fault - Going to dealer on thursday

  8. Oh and also quickshifter now not working

  9. Does the bike idle higher than normal or are the revs hesitant to fall?

If they are do not ride it. Call the Ducati Assist. That's the symptoms my had before the throttle stuck open.

  10. Dont worry ducati is collecting thursday - will be stored at work till then- i would of called ducati assist but i would rather get my dealer i like to use to collect as assist may only send to the nearest dealer to me and i dont want it going there so happy to sit on it for a few days

And yes it does idle higher than normal noticed yesterday like in my first post, all cleared in the afternoon till this morning when a few more things started to happen on the ride in
