Dash Lights....

  1. .....anyone noticed if the tacho lighting is much brighter than the speedo light?

    I wonder if I have got a bulb on it's way out..........couldn't see sod all on the speedo at 9.00pm last night.

  2. Equal glow from all three. Can't say that about the warning lights during the day though....

  5. Or higher wattage. I tried LED lights on my idiot lights and wasnt impressed. The indicator has current going both ways so wouldnt work. I changed them all to higher wattage bulbs and now visible in all lighting conditions

  12. Im thinking they are 1.2 watt, and I upgraded to 2 watts

  15. Thanks Ian..........I have checked the ones in my spare circuit board and the ones in my spare dash.......all 1.2W (Dammit).......

    In the spare dash, the speedo and tacho have 3W bulbs and adding a battery makes them glow the same..........So it looks like my fairing will have to come off so I can get at the dash on the bike.......

  17. My tacho is OK and I'm assuming it is 3W............but I reckon the speedo is either 2W or a failing 3W..........

    .......and I can't get at the damn thing without having the fairing off.................so, no night-time riding until I have done it.

    Mind you, the faded orange paint on the gauge needles doen't help much..............

    ...........So, I might just change the whole dash over for the spare complete one (and it has much lower mileage on it........:wink:)
