Dashboard fault

  1. Hi

Just a quick question re known faults with the dash. Have looked at a Multi and everything looks good bar a very feint glow on the righthand indicator dash display. The dash and all the bikes electrics work fine but I have read that this could be an earthing problem with the dash. Is this a major fault or am I worrying about nothing. Only asking as the bike is out of the Ducati warranty but would come with a three month dealer warranty. Cheers for any help

  2. Have it looked into, I have the same but with the left hand dash display, I also have the neutral light on, seemingly its a recognised problem solved by changing the left hand bar switch. Mine is being changed in a fortnight.

  3. Yes get it replaced, theyre 600 odd quid.

Plus note mileage will reset. Bit of a pain, plus point it's done, minus you will forever know it because of odd service reminders. Maybe ask for discount for inconvenience or free servicing.

    Bugs.

  4. Cheers for the replies, will chat to the dealer tomorrow and see what they say. If all goes well could have the bike for next weekend.

  5. On my multi when it does that means the water/moisture has got in .....take it off and dry in the airing cupboard, assembly with light grease on the silicone seal

Thanks for the practical advice. Will give it a try if it becomes a major issue.

  7. I have had this problem for over a year (2010 model) without it getting worse so I'm just living with it. However I took the bike in for the 15K mile service on Monday and 'registered' my issue with them as the warranty runs out next week. The service indicator sync is the main reason I haven't changed it but also the fact no one can tell me if the replacement will be an improved part of not. I don't want to go through the hassle if it is just going to recurr.

My dealer says that as it is on the system, Ducati would replace the dash if it gets worse when out of warranty.

Just to keep things in perspective though, other than this slight niggle my bike has been faultless.
